Abrasive Wear

As you know, there are different types of wear. Abrasive wear is a common issue that occurs when a hard surface interacts with a softer surface and causes a loss in material. Wear can cause a multitude of issues, many times it being surface failures. You also know that wear can be classified as either “abrasive” or “adhesive.” Corrosive wear is a form of adhesive wear that occurs when corrosion is present. Wear resistance is crucial to the success of your parts and your application—And there are many ways it can be achieved. Perhaps changing of alloyed materials or utilizing particulate lubrications or coatings, could be considered in easing the situation.
